Well I submitted the first TMA for my OU course, sent it through the E-TMA system as per normal, but was very surprised when I got an email the next day to say it was marked and ready to collect. They usually take a bit longer than that. So I logged on and downloaded the score – and nearly had a breakdown to see the score come back as 1%. I mean, come on, I knew it wasn’t the best piece of written work I’d ever produced, but it wasn’t that bad!
Thankfully, when I picked my stomach off the floor, I read through the guidelines and remembered that because this is an ‘openings’ course, the assignments aren’t marked in terms of grades, but assessed against the learning outcomes. Despite this, a number has to be entered or the electronic marking system won’t let the assigment be returned. So, that’s the 1%. Phew! Not so bad if I think of it in terms of binary marking
I’ve also registered this week with another course to start in October. A level 2 course this time, which means I’ll have to buckle down and get myself organised. Had better finish TT by then or the distraction might be too much.
